Sports

St Joseph's continues to pride itself on its sporting achievements and encouraging all students to enjoy and participate in a variety of sports. An annual School Carnival is held for Swimming, Cross Country and Athletics. Representative teams are then selected to represent the school and compete in Regional Carnivals.

Sporting Excellence

Opportunities for progressing onto Archdiocesan, MacKillop, and State selection at PSSA level are available for children aged 8-13yrs. Children also have the opportunity to compete for selection in Cricket, Soccer, Rugby League, Rugby Union, Netball, and Touch Football.  Progression to State level is the same as for Swimming, Athletics and Cross-Country. St Joseph's has had many students successfully make their way onto Archdiocesan, MacKillop and State teams.

Sports Houses

St Joseph's has two sports houses allocated on enrolment: MacKay (Green) and McClauey (Yellow).

Sporting Schools Program

Each term students have the opportunity to participate in an afternoon sporting session based on a particular spor, including: Orienteering, athletics, hockey, golf, basketball, Aussie Rules, and gymnastics. These afternoon sessions are open to all students across K-6.

Swimming Program

St Joseph's conducts an intensive swimming program at the start of Term 1 and the end of Term 4, for approximately 8 days each term. This program is designed to help children build their confidence with swimming and to also teach students the necessary skills and protective and safety behaviours when swimming or dealing with an incident/accident while swimming.
